Abstract:

Hu kra chong is an introduced, cultivated tree commonly planted throughout Thailand. It is often referred to as Terminalia ivorensis A. Chev. (Combretaceae). However, comparison with type specimens and protologues of species of Terminalia L. indicate that it is correctly identified as T. mantaly H.Perrier, a tree native to Madagascar. Cultivated Phae barami is also T. mantaly.
